There is no single correct amount — it sets the concentration. 10 mg + 1 mL = 10 mg/mL; 10 mg + 2 mL = 5 mg/mL. More water gives a larger, easier-to-read draw for small doses. Set your vial and water above and the calculator shows the resulting concentration and units per dose.
Units = dose ÷ concentration × 100, where concentration = vial mg ÷ mL of water, on a U-100 syringe (100 units = 1 mL). Example: a 10 mg vial in 2 mL is 5 mg/mL, so a 4 mg dose = 4 ÷ 5 × 100 = 80 units.
Yes. A 1 mL U-100 syringe is marked 0–100 units, so 0.5 mL is the 50-unit mark and 1 mL is 100 units. The calculator draws the fill line on your exact syringe so you can see where to pull to.
It depends on your concentration. At 5 mg/mL (10 mg + 2 mL): 2 mg = 40 units, 4 mg = 80 units, 6 mg = 120 units. Change the vial or water above to recompute for your setup.
